Iran’s Ministry of Transport hit by a cyber attack

Tehran, July 10 (Xinhua)-Iran’s Ministry of Transport confirmed a cyberattack on computer systems on Saturday. This has taken the ministry’s portal page and related pages offline.

“This issue is being investigated by the ministry’s technical experts,” the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development reportedly said by Iran’s news network PressTV.

The attack occurred the day after the turmoil hijacked stations across the country in a cyberattack targeting the computer systems of national railroad companies. “Hackers have succeeded in breaking into a system that displays arrivals and departures,” Press TV reported.

Iran’s Ministry of Telecommunications warned of a possible ransomware attack on Saturday, urging government departments to work closely with information security agencies if they received a ransomware message.
