Utilities will be able to share resources during cyber attacks

ALBANY – New York state’s largest electric and gas utilities were granted permission by state regulators to share infrastructure and resources in the event of a cyber attack.

The state Public Service Commission approved their participation in the Cyber Mutual Assistance program, an initiative of hundreds of gas and electric utilities across North America to provide assistance to one another in the event of a cyber attack on the electric grid or natural gas systems.
